Eagle Scout Court of Honor – Kevin Palencar

Wednesday, April 4th, 2012

If you have never been to an Eagle Scout Court of Honor (and even if you have), I hope you will consider attending this Court of Honor for a former Pack 883 member.  Only about 2% of the boys who join Boy Scouts advance to the rank of Eagle Scout, so the Court of Honor is very special.

The Members and Leaders of Boy Scout Troop 883

request the honor of your presence at an Eagle Scout Investiture honoring

Wednesday, April 4th, 2012

Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the Pack’s annual planning meeting at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 22 (tentatively at the Fischers, but subject to change depending upon the RSVPs).  This is the meeting where we plan the Pack program for the entire year.  Bring your ideas to make this Pack year the best ever!

What could we do that would be amazing for the boys?

Please RSVP via the Pack’s RSVP site:  www.bsapack883.com/rsvp.

Baltimore Area Council 100th Anniversary Camporee – October 5-7, 2012

Wednesday, April 4th, 2012

Baltimore Area Council is celebrating its 100th anniversary this fall with a special Camporee at Oregon Ridge Park.  This will be similar to the 100th anniversary Camporee in 2010 at Fort McHenry.  The dates of the event are October 5-7.  Units will have the option of camping on site or just participating in the activities on Saturday.

We need one person to coordinate the Pack’s registration for the Baltimore Area Council’s Camporee (October 5-7, 2012) – and we need one person (perhaps the same person as the registrar) to coordinate any Dens that are interested in camping at the Camporee.

If you can help, email Marc at marc.fischer@transwestern.net.

Scouting for Food – Scouting’s Good Turn Project

Wednesday, April 4th, 2012

One of the most important aspects of the Scouting Program is helping other people – it’s even in the Cub Scout Promise and the Scout Oath.  Please make every effort to participate in the Scouting for Food drop off (April 14) and pick up (April 21).  Meet at Liberty High School (in the parking lot closest to Johnsville Road – on the left of the school) at 9 AM.

We need as much help as possible to participate in this service project – the work is much easier if more people show up to help!

The Council’s Scouting for Food program will have new dates this year:

  •  Bag Distribution – Saturday, April 14
  • Bag Collection – Saturday, April 21

Report at 9 AM at the Liberty High School parking lot (near Johnsville Road – to the left of the school).

The primary reason for the dates being pushed back was feedback from many pantries and food banks saying that they are more in need in the springtime and that many other food drives were leaving them well-stocked throughout the winter months.

If you can help with either the bag distribution and/or the bag collection, please email Julie as soon as possible.
