Community Service Committee – Canned Food Drive

Our Community Service Committee is sponsoring a canned food drive at our December Pack Meeting to assist local families during the Holiday Season.  All items will be donated to the Carroll County Food Bank.  Please bring canned goods or other non-perishable food items to the Pack Meeting to support this worthy cause.

Next Advancement Due Dates

PLEASE NOTE:  Advancement closes for December on Friday, December 10 at 5:00 PM.  Den Leaders (or designees) must enter advancement data prior to this date/time – be sure to submit your son’s advancement information to your Den Leader (or designee) well in advance of this deadline. 

The advancement team will send an advancement report to each Den Leader by Saturday morning.  Den Leaders (or designees) have until 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 12 to make any additions, corrections, or changes to the advancement records.  At 5:00 PM on December 12, the advancement for the month will be final – any changes will be recognized at the January Pack Meeting.

CPR/AED Course

Adult CPR/AED Course

For Boy Scouts, Venture Crew Members, Scouters, and Adults

Why: One American dies of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) every two minutes, and SCA is almost always fatal.  The patient’s chance of survival is dramatically improved when bystanders begin CPR immediately, and when an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is used quickly.  This course will teach you the skills you need in order to perform CPR, use an AED, and relieve an airway obstruction in someone who is choking.

Who: Scouts (12+), Scouters, and Parents

What: ASHI Adult CPR/AED course (conforms to the American Heart Association (AHA) standards).  Upon completion, you will receive a completion card that is valid for 2 years.

Where: Howard County Fire & Rescue – Public Safety Training Center

Sessions are limited to 20 participants each

100th Anniversary – Year of Celebration Patch Program

Don’t forget that the 100th Anniversary patch program closes on 12/31/2010 – boys will not be able to earn the patch or ribbons after this date.

For those who are new to the Pack and want to participate in the program – the Pack will provide patches at the November Pack meeting to each of the boys who need them.  Boys (and adult leaders) can earn the ribbons by completing the requirements listed on the website (link below).  The Den Leaders then enters each ribbon as part of the monthly advancement reporting in Packmaster.
