  • • Date:  Friday, April 16 (NOTE THE NEW DATE)
    • Time: 
      • 5:00 PM – Family Picnic (optional – bring your own)
      • 6:30 PM – Flag Retirement Ceremony
      • 7:00 PM – Pack Meeting
    • Location:  Freedom Park, Pavilion #2 (all of the way at the end of the road) (NOTE THE NEW LOCATION)

May Pack Meeting

• Theme:  Pack Picnic and Bridging
  • Date:  Friday, May 21
  • Time: 
    • 6:00 PM – Family Picnic – catered by the Pack
    • 7:00 PM – Pack Meeting
  • Location:  SJCC (outside at the picnic area if possible – in the gym if not)
  • Program Activity:
    • Bridging
    • Wood Badge Regalia Presentation

June Pack Meeting

The 2010 National Scout Jamboree is a gathering of 43,000 Boys Scouts and leaders from across the United States and from around the world.  Jamborees are held every 4 years (although the 2010 Jamboree was moved to make it fall on the 100th Anniversary of Scouting in America), and we are fortunate that (since 1981) the Jamborees have been held in Virginia.  To help our boys experience the thrill of seeing a Jamboree up close – and to celebrate BSA’s 100th Anniversary in style – Pack 883 is organizing a Jamboree day trip.

To celebrate the anniversary of the founding of Scouting in America, the Boy Scouts of America asks its members to attend their place of worship in uniform at a religious service in February. This is commonly known as Scout Sunday (or Scout Sabbath).

St. Joseph Catholic Community will celebrate a special Scout Sunday Mass on Sunday, March 14 at the 6:00 PM Mass. Please plan to attend (in your uniform) with your family.

If you are interested in participating in the Mass (altar servers, lectors, cantors, Eucharistic ministers, etc.) to highlight your connection to Scouting, please email Tess Carroll at dtcarroll@verizon.net.

For those who are not Catholic or who are not members of St. Joseph Catholic Community, BSA encourages you to wear your uniform to your religious service on the weekend of March 14. (Check with your place of worship to see if they have planned a special Scout Sunday/Scout Sabbath service.)
