2009 Popcorn Sale

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Pack 883′s popcorn sale will kick off at the first Den meeting of the year. Sale packets will be distributed and the sale can begin! There is a new and improved product list from Trail’s End this year. Please visit for a sneak peek.

We are also excited to  offer on-line ordering for your out of town family and friends.  Scouts can set up an online account, and tell out of state family and friends that they can order directly from Trails’ End.  Trail’s End will ship the order directly to the customer and the scout will receive credit for the sale.  Scouts earn additional prizes from online sales once they have reached $250.  Go to to log in and set up an account.

In addition to the Trail’s End prizes there are several wonderful prizes from the District. Scouts selling $500 in popcorn will receive a free week of day camp in 2010. If you “Fill the Sheet” with 30 orders you will be entered into the Kernel’s Challenge Contest for a chance to win $2,500.  There will also be weekly drawings for each filled sheet.  The Grand Prize is a trip to Disney World. That’s right – the #1 seller in the Council will win a trip for a family of 4 including airfare, hotel, and park tickets for 3 days and 2 nights.

Popcorn is the largest fundraiser for Pack 883 and we had a wonderful year in 2008 selling $9,520 in popcorn earning over $3,600 to support our activities.  Please help support our pack by inviting your friends and family to purchase Trail’s End gourmet popcorn.  Our challenge to the scouts – let’s do even better in 2009.  How much popcorn can you sell!

Updated Prize:  The top seller in the Pack will ride to the December Pack Meeting in style – inside of a 70,000 pound, $1,000,000 fire truck!  Sykesville-Freedom District VFD will pick up the top seller at his house (or at a location in their first due area) and will drive him to the December Pack Meeting.  Then, with lights flashing and the siren blaring, the top seller will make a grand entrance into the parking lot to kick off our Pack Meeting!

Please contact our Popcorn Kernel’s Kelly and Tim Thimmesch if you have any questions or need a sales packet.
