US Heritage Award

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

The United States Heritage Award was designed to give youth recognition for learning about the heritage of the United States of America, and being involved.

By completing the United States Heritage Award, it is hoped greater understanding and pride of our nation will prevail.  A medal and a patch can be awarded to all that successfully complete the award requirements.  All requirements can be done with a unit, group, family, or individually.

The United States Heritage Award has two different award levels:

  •  Silver award is for youth ages 6-10
  •  Gold award is for youth aged 11-18.

Adults can also earn the gold award if they complete the requirements and assist a youth in earning the United States Heritage Award.

Den leaders (and families), here’s a link to the requirements:  http://www.nationstrails.com/awards/index.html

May Pack Meeting Update

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

For Saturday’s meeting, Cub Scouts and leaders should wear their Pack t-shirt for the softball game and should change into their uniform shirt for the Pack Meeting.

Don’t forget to wear the hat of your favorite baseball team!

We will be outside, so don’t forget to bring lawn chairs.

See you on Saturday night – looks like great weather!

Fishing – Summertime Pack Activity

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

Fishing

Pack 883 is Goin’ Fishing on Saturday, June 13.  Meet at SJCC 12 noon for about an hour drive to Ye Olde Fishin’ Hole.   (It’s a private stocked pond – so there is a REALLY good chance you will catch a fish!)

Pre-registration is required, and the event is limited to the first 15 Cub Scouts who sign up.  Please sign up through Yahoo! Groups to reserve your spot!
