Summer Picnic & Bridging

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

June 5, 2009 at 6:00 PMcubscout_jun08_0371

Let’s kick off the summer!  The Pack will supply the hamburgers and hot dogs, but we need your help too.  Each den should bring something to share:

  • Tiger Den 4 – Drinks
  • Wolf Den 3 – Side Dish
  • Bear Den 2 – Dessert
  • Web I Den 9 – Side Dish

Volunteers are needed to help with the grills.  If you are willing to help for a short shift, please contact Kellie Thimmesch at 410.549.0880 or at kthimmesch@verizon.net.

Fishing – Summertime Pack Activity

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

Fishing

Pack 883 is Goin’ Fishing on Saturday, June 13.  Meet at SJCC 12 noon for about an hour drive to Ye Olde Fishin’ Hole.   (It’s a private stocked pond – so there is a REALLY good chance you will catch a fish!)

Pre-registration is required, and the event is limited to the first 15 Cub Scouts who sign up.  Please sign up through Yahoo! Groups to reserve your spot!

Summertime Pack Activities

Saturday, May 16th, 2009
Wow!  Cindy Knies has been working for several months to create an AMAZING schedule of Summertime Pack Activities.
1.    Several activities need a Coordinator.  If you see something that is interesting, please contact Cindy and JUMP IN!  We need you!
2.    Several activities need helpers to keep the events running smoothly.  If you see something that is interesting, please contact the activity Coordinator and JUMP IN.  We need you!
3.     Many of the activities have dates/times.  The draft schedule will allow you to start putting activities on your family’s calendar.

It sounds like it is going to be a great summer full of Cub Scout activities, but we really need every family to give a few hours of time to make sure the Cub Scouts have a summer full of fun, educational, and exciting activities.  PLEASE HELP!

YIS,

May Pack Meeting

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

The May Pack Meeting is Saturday, May 23 at SJCC.  The theme of the meeting is “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” and this is going to be a really great meeting.

We will feature a softball game (bring your glove) for the Cub Scouts and siblings from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM outside.  Scouts who participate can earn the Softball belt loop.  Plan to come early to relax with the other Scout families.

In addition, we will be serving baseball game foods (without the stadium prices – all food is free).  As of now, we will have hot dogs, popcorn, drinks, and more armpit fudge.  Bring your appetite and your lawn chairs!

Cindy Knies has graciously offered to spearhead the food for this meeting, but we need your help to prepare the food ahead of time.  (This is basically to help get the popcorn into smaller individual serve bags and to get the hot dogs cooked and wrapped in aluminum foil.)  If you can help – and we need 4-5 people to help – please email Cindy as soon as possible at seinkc@qis.net.

It’s going to be a great meeting!  We may even have a special guest who will help us with advancements this month.  See you then!

Yours in Scouting,

Marc

Flag Retirement Ceremony

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

cubscout_jun08_018It’s almost time for our annual Flag Retirement Ceremony at our June Pack Meeting.  Please gather any flags in need of retirement (don’t forget to ask neighbors and relatives) and bring them to me at the May Pack Meeting.  We will prepare them in time for another Flag Retirement Ceremony at the June Pack Meeting (the end of the year Pack Picnic).

Yours in Scouting,

Marc
