Pinewood Derby Details for 2017!

Written by Howard Taylor (Webmaster) on March 1st, 2017

It’s Pinewood Season again, Scouters! Each scout should have gotten a car at the January Pack meeting. A paper copy of the rules were included but you can find another copy here (Pinewood Flier 20170117). The rules listed apply to both the Pack and Family pinewood races. Scales are now with each of the Den leaders. Scout are encouraged to check the weight of their cars as they get close to finishing to know how much weight needs to be added to get to the 5.0 oz limit. I have plenty of lead weights that I am happy to provide (to parents only).

Race day is March 25th and registration starts at 11:30am.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. My contact information is listed in the attached flier.

Pinewood Derby Rules for 2016!

Written by Howard Taylor (Webmaster) on March 1st, 2016

It is once again time for the Pinewood Derby.  All scouts should have received a pinewood derby kit at the January pack meeting.  A flier ( Pinewood Flier 20160129 )was also handed out detailing the rules for the Pack and Family Pinewood Races.  Scales have been distributed to each den so scouts can check the weight of their car at upcoming den meetings.  Those same scales will be used during check-in to alleviate any problems with variability from scale to scale.  The Pinewood Derby is one of the most celebrated events of the Cub Scout program.  Get ready to start your engines and have some fun!

Written by Howard Taylor (Webmaster) on February 9th, 2014

Pinewood Derby Season is upon us! The scouts should have received a car kit and a flier describing the event and the rules to follow when building the car. This is one of the biggest events of the Cub Scout year! Consider getting the scouts from your den together to have a build party. It can help get creative juices flowing.
